Sights 'n' Sounds is a professional business. Mike Hobson was the co-founder of the company back in 1976, and still runs it full time today, along with our main DJ Kevin who has been with us for thirty years, working his way up as a teenager helping with the lighting side of the business, then graduating to the DJ side.
We provide a professional service built upon our reputation and experience.
We have over 40 years experience in the business, and have provided literally thousands of satisfied couples with professional entertainment to make their wedding day complete.
A wedding involves a lot of planning, and one of the main elements in that planning is chosing the right entertainment for the reception.
Sights 'n' Sounds has been around since 1976 and has provided the entertainment at literally thousands of weddings since then.
So our experience and knowledge is a good starting point for you to consider hiring us for the most important day of your life.
What we can offer you is simply a stress free planning experience for all aspects of your reception.
From your first contact with us to the fading notes of the final dance, you can be sure that we will help you plan everything along the way.

All bookings are confirmed in writing, with a contract and payment of a deposit.
Payment can be by: Bank Transfer (preferred), cheque or (cash for local clients only.)
Sights & Sounds is aimed at the 'middle market' in wedding reception presentation.
We are not the cheapest, nor are we the most expensive.
We provide a professional service, using professional equipment more frequently used in the 'upper market' range, from the latest digital PA systems using top quality music mixing facilities, to wireless, remote control of all our lighting displays which is programmed on the day, customised to the venue and your requirements.
Your requirements must be considered. No two weddings are the same.
We have to fit in with your, and the venue's arrangements. This very often means an early set up is required, which means two return journeys to and from the venue. This also applies if an 'all day package' is chosen where we would be required during the wedding breakfast to supply background music, mics. for speeches etc. and to make announcements.
More involvement with the client with regard to the type of music is required. This often means sourcing special songs or music that we don't normally carry.
Our clients choice of music is always welcomed. We particularly encourage a playlist that involves requests from all your guests, including the bride and groom's first dance.
We have a very flexible payment plan.
To confirm the booking, a deposit of £100 is required, payable within two weeks of receiving your contract.
This payment is non-returnable.
If you have booked well in advance of your wedding, say 12 months ahead of the wedding date, then you may pay the balance off in instalments.
To make it easier, these payments are left to your choice, anytime up to 30 days before the wedding reception date, when the full balance must have been paid.
In the unlikey event of you having to cancel, then we would require at least six weeks notice, otherwise full payment would be due immediately by Bank Transfer.
Sights 'n' Sounds has a very flexible setup.
We can be very discrete and blend in with the location, using your choice of either black or white DJ booth Starcloth lit with white LEDs,
or you can have our full stage setup, using Pro Standard Moving Heads, Scanners, Laser, Uplighting etc.
Or we can mix and match anything in between. The choice is yours.
All our lighting is DMX controlled which simply means we are able to program the whole lightshow to your event.
All of our uplighting is wireless operated, so no ugly wires to get in the way across doorways and to trip over.
This gives us more flexibility and a neater appearance.

And why not add our Confetti Cannon to surprise your guests on the first dance?
Since 2009 we have provided an Uplighting service, which means we can highlight various areas of the ceremony room and reception venue with lighting to suit your colour theme.
This can also be used during the wedding breakfast to create the right atmosphere, and then later during the dancing, it will be incorporated with the main disco lighting.
The music is the most important thing. We will consult with you the style of music you and your guests would like, particularly the first dance, should you chose to have one.
Not all couples want a first dance, but that's your choice.
We encourage our clients to submit a playlist of songs they would like included on the night. That helps us to know we are playing the music you and your guests want.
Just a small tip on playlists - we can play about 20 songs per hour, so for a four to five hour reception, a list of up to 100 songs would be about right.
We will also include guests requests on the night, and of course some of our own selection.
PORTABLE PA OPTION
Our portable PA system can be added to your package to provide background music during the meal, and for speeches, toasts etc.
This would also be available to a solo performer you may have as part of your entertainment.
Being portable, this can be moved to other areas, away from the main disco area where we can provide music outside or in a chillout area or separate bar or room.
We have a library of over 70,000 songs, covering all styles of music from the 1940's to the latest charts.
All our music is in mp3 format, with full backup systems.

Choose and customise your package here
Our Corporate Packages can provide for either a small company event, such as a Dinner Dance or annual Christmas Party, to a larger event where other events may be taking place.
For instance, if required we could provide additional lighting and PA facilities for a band or stage act.
With our vast database of music we can supply music for any themed event, just let us know the theme and we'll have the music.
We can also set the right atmosphere using our Uplighting service. Any colour combination can be used to set the desired effect.
Our Standard Package can cater for up to 150 guests and our Premium Package for up to 300 guests.
For peace of mind when booking, all our equipment is tested to P.A.T. requirements.
We have Public Liability Insurance cover for 2x £10m.
